Giving Yourself Permission

I’ve been in a women’s sexual empowerment group for the past three years. Yesterday was our closing call.

On the call, we got to share the things we love and cherish about each other.

One piece of feedback several members of the group shared with me is that my willingness to show up as my full self—to share the good, the bad, the heartbreak and the triumphs—gave them permission to be more themselves, too.

To worry less about how they look. Or getting it “right”. Or what other people will think.

This is just about the best compliment I can imagine.🥹

It’s left me thinking a lot about permission. And why we often feel like we need someone else’s approval to live the life we want to live.

To quit the job.

Ask that person out.

Write the book.

Have the baby.

Not have the baby.

To say No.

To say Yes!

To embrace our bodies and our sexuality.

So I just wanted to send a little reminder your way today that you can give yourself permission to live the life you want to live.

How I wanna see you talking to you

This is your invitation to take a few minutes to think on what your life looks like right now.

And to ask yourself how you’ll look back on it when you’re old and grey and ready to depart this world.

You can start giving yourself radical permission to be your whole, true, liberated, powerful self right this very second.

Baby step, by baby step.

Because your life is precious. And you only get to do it once.

If you could use a little help on your journey of radical self-love and sexual empowerment, I got you.
